St. Michael’s Hospice is located in Basingstoke but serves all of North Hampshire. We care for patients with life limiting illnesses and also their families too. The care and support we provide in the In-Patient Unit and in our patient's homes with our Community Palliative Care Team is provided in an environment full of love, support, warmth, friendship, comfort and dignity. We also offer a wide range of other services including a therapeutic day service programme, physiotherapy, a befriending service as well as bereavement support for patients and families.

At St. Michael’s Hospice, we know that many who come to stay with us, or receive home visits from our care team, are at an understandably difficult time in their lives. We do everything we can to support our patients, not only with the best possible clinical care, but with a personal approach and a caring, welcoming and positive environment. Our philosophy is that a hospice shouldn’t be regarded simply as a place where people come to spend the time they have left, or to say goodbye to loved ones, but also somewhere to celebrate life.

All our services are free of charge and are tailored to help patients and families cope as best they can with the challenges they face. In 2019/20 it will cost over £5million to operate the Hospice to provide our services to the local community with around 16% funding from the North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group. The remaining £4.2million comes from the kind donations made by members of the local community.
